Erica Rayner-Horn, MA, LMHC
Erica Rayner-Horn is a mindfulness-based psychotherapist specializing in integrating mindfulness practices in her work as a therapist, meditation teacher, writer and group facilitator. An instructor of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program, she teaches mindfulness meditation and stress management in medical, educational and corporate settings, and leads workshops on mindfulness meditation, stress reduction, mindful eating and mindful parenting. She has extensive postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and evidence-based mindfulness interventions.
Erica specializes in weaving western psychology with the wisdom and meditative practices of contemplative and spiritual traditions. This powerful approach helps relieve stress, reduce anxiety and depression, and strengthens resilience for facing life-changing challenges such as serious illness, trauma and loss.
Bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to the challenge of living well with cancer, Erica is the founder of Awake and Alive: Mindful Living with Cancer a mindfulness-based healing retreat for cancer survivors. She is on the faculty of Harmony Hill Retreat Center and presents for organizations such as Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Erica teaches and facilitates mindfulness programs for cancer patients internationally.
Drawing on more than 35 years of meditation experience Erica studied and trained with many of the foremost meditation teachers of our time, including the beloved mindfulness teacher Thich Nhat Hahn. She is skilled at guiding both beginners and experienced meditators, and her approach embodies compassion; mindful presence and embracing the present moment - just the way it is! She is the author of a best-selling CD “Finding Tranquility-Guided Mindfulness Meditations for Stressful Times,” available on Amazon Finding Tranquility Guided Mindfulness Meditations for Stressful Times CD, and an upcoming book and online course on mindfulness for those living with cancer.
